My computer constantly freezes or restarts and I was wondering what are some things I can do to fix this problem besides upgrading the computer. And no my computer does not have a virus, I already checked.

you may have to many programs running at startup.stop them.hit start, run, type msconfig, click startup tab.selective startup.click what you dont need running
possible hardware failure…or to fail soon. corrupted ram…. connection could be loose between the ram and the sockets….or the hard drive and the motherboard. could be a heat issue…is the system full of dust and stuff. are the fans working…is the processor fan working..( heat issues will cause often system shut downs and restarts..and even freezing..)
could be the result of a virus attack causing damage to the system files…were you ever infected by anything…??
and yes could be virus or malware or adware related…possibly not found yet or a hidden file…or a root kit…
My suggestion is to eliminate that first…..
Malwarebytes, and avira are two good free choices for getting rid of nasty viruses and malware.
other than that check all your hardware for issues i mentioned..and at worst case take it to a tech for inspection.
could possibly need to reinstall your OS..hope not.
The Windows operating system constantly refers to the registry to get information about all of the components such as hardware and software which are installed on the computer. The registry tells Windows what to do and how to access the various programs, files, and processes. However, the registry can contain bad information which sends Windows off doing useless tasks or running unneeded routines. Sometimes errors occur including the freezeing. Other times the system slows down. Because of the sheer number of factors that can affect the registry, there’s no one size fits all approach. You can’t just go into the registry and remove the bad information because it’s nearly impossible to decipher which information is good and which information is bad. That’s a job better suited for software. I should like to commend Registry Easy http://computer-e-book-money.com to you ! You can try ! Good luck!
Probably you should try fixing it with CCleaner, and once you fix your PC you should have recovery software like Magicure which can prevent your PC from any kind of Damage. Please read
What you want to do is make sure you close out any icons that you see by your clock that you are not using. All of these programs are running on your computer but hidden off in the background waiting to be used. I also recommend you download CC Cleaner it will free up resources and also Useful for many other things. Do not forget that it is best to derangement your computer once every other week. To do this just find your windows program called disk defragmenter.
1.overheat on system processor may make u r system freeze and restart automatically (u r system chassis and processor fan may be failed or u must have got lots of dust in it)
2.Video graphics card failure this may freeze u r system and sometimes restart due to display failure.(try to diagnosis u r graphic card)
3.Ram failure this is a rare case,.usually system wont boot if ram failed completley.may be it can be a slot problem too.try switching u r ram to the other available slot.
-its not virus-
-its 100% hardware problem-
from u r question i can say it may be processor instability or heat.
try to clean all u r chassis fans and reset the processor.
if u didn’t get the result try to troubleshoot in the way i mentioned above.
i am sure this works.

Only 3 reasons beside such failures
