My neighbor recieved a new Vaio N notebook from her work as a gift. She has no need for it and has decided to sell it. The suggested retail price is $979 but she has already opened it and put a user name and password on it. That right off the bat should depreciate the value bout 25% or so shouldn’t? I tried to bargin with her for it but she wouldn’t budge and asked for 979. How much would you pay for it? Mind you it has already been opened and a user acount on it but is still in prime conditon. Please help!

As to the specs of the notebook its processor is and intel core duo 1.86 Ghz, 120GB hard disk, 15.4 in. screen you get the idea heres its product number if you want to check it out VGN-N350E/B. As to ebay I checked there is a wide range of prices and I told here that but she thinks that its worth its retail price. Please help!

depends.
You should search E-Bay and see what prices are getting actual bids on, also post the specs (RAM, HD size, Processor) and then people could give you informed quotes.
offer her 500.00 or 600.00, I mean it is brand new and all she did was make it a password. Come on bargain with her. Maybe 800.00. I mean your still getting a good deal. Right?
I would pay a good $900-$950, take a little bit off because its just barely used.
retail price means nothing check the internet for cheapest price then knock off 33% if she wants the full price don’t bother go to the shop and buy new then you’ll have full support
Offer 800-850$ for it. If she still says no, then just walk away…its all a game really. Just walk away, wait a couple days, then when she realizes she isnt going to sell it for what she wants, she’ll come to you…and mind you, it isnt that hard to erase an account and replace it with your own.
she should be happy that she is gettin any money, i would suggest 900 since it already has that much stuff on it
